LANGHAD INVESTMENTS
- Project: EPL 8956
- Status: Preliminary License
- Commodities: Gold (Au)
- Country: Namibia
- Summary: In August 2023, Langhad received a notification letter from the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) stating an intent to grant an Exclusive Prospecting License. This letter which acts as a preliminary license gave Langhad the right to conduct an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) as a prerequisite for full permit approval. Langhad commissioned local experienced Namibian companies to carry the work. The EIA has been completed in November 2024 and the Exclusive Prospecting License is expected to be granted by the first quarter of 2025.
- Location: EPL 8956 is geologically situated in the Namibian central Damaran orogenic belt and Kalkfeld; an area with 3 world class gold discoveries to this date. B2gold Otjikoto mine and Osino Twin Hills discovery are both located within 120 km from EPL 8956 while Broadmind Mining Eisenberg Carbonatite Project on rare earth elements lays adjacently in the southern east.
- Historical Exploration: The data covering EPL 8956 are traced from the 1970s. Rio Tinto explored the area in 1990s while the most recent works including a desktop preliminary report, sediment, soil and rock sampling were completed by Teck Resources in 2008. Samples were collected from 30cm deep pits arranged in a cross pattern within 2-3m diameter circle.
- Project: Mbanza-Ngungu Strategic Minerals
- Status: Application Process
- Commodities: Vanadium (V205), Lead (Pb)
- Country: Democratic Republic of Congo
- Summary: Cactus Investments commissioned geologists to identify areas to mine critical minerals in conflict free areas. As a result, the company was satisfied to focus on Mbanza-Ngungu because it is highly prospective and very accessible by road. Cactus Investments immediately started the process for an exploration license (PR) to be granted by the government. The company is seeking financial and technical partnerships to be fully permitted and commence exploration works.
- Location: Mbanza-Ngungu is a rich minerals town situated on the western part of the country. The area is 150 km from the capital Kinshasa and 200 km from the port of Matadi by road.
- Historical Exploration: The area covering our project was explored by Bamoco in the 1950s and Falcon bridge in the 1970s at a semi advanced stage. A site within our targeted 34 mining quarries showed a mineral reserve estimate of 20,000t @1.64% V205 and 3.22 Pb.
